Year 2 students used iMovie to present what they know about “How to save the world”. Students got the in formation from books and the internet; their learned iMovies skills and they used is to present their information. They did a great job editing their own movies independently.
Grade one students are having a great time using iPads for the learning activities. It’s the first project they have using the iPads. 1P went around the school taking pictures of things related to water. 1B stayed in their room and take pictures of shapes. They were all excited doing this activities. They were really proud of themselves when they were sharing those pictures with the class. Now they are waiting to use those pictures on a Keynote document.
Pictures are really to be used. They are on the media server that’s easy to access. It looks like iPads will make a difference in students’ learning.
I’m sure there are many apps we can use to brainstorm. It’s always been my wish to get a group of students to brainstorm electronically. I tried chat rooms, but they were too linear. But wallwisher is just what I was looking for; it keeps the essence of the brainstorming practices as we do it in school. I just tried it with one Gr.1 teacher and she loves it because it works like a charm with her student. I was so happy that I couldn’t stop myself giving her a hug.
